About the PhD fellowship  International recognition of the biodiversity crisis is creating a demand for skills to cost-effectively monitor and understand trends in biodiversity. This PhD will develop indicators of how natural a species assemblage is, including field studies in a Marine Protected Area, with applications for biodiversity monitoring using video and image analysis. The PhD would work closely with the Horizon Europe funded project “MPA Europe”   led by Nord University (2023-2026) and the new BioBoost+ project developing AI methods to enumerate species in time-series samples.
