Description of the job

Living Reefs Foundation is looking for a full-time Breeding Technician and Researcher for the upcoming coral spawning season. We are looking for a qualified and motivated individual to join a growing organization dedicated to developing scalable and sustainable coral production technologies with innovative and effective tools.

The selected candidate will need a good knowledge of seawater systems and flow, have a high level of marine handling aptitude, common sense in the use of tools and equipment, attention to detail, consistency and reliability, and understand that maintaining a well-managed breeding system is critical to the success of coral breeding work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences or equivalent experience.
• SCUBA certification and at least 10 research dives.
• Experience driving powerboats (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and R Studio.
• Experience in photogrammetry surveys and analysis (preferred).
• At least 2 years of marine management and research experience in breeding early life stages of corals or other marine organisms.
