rrreefs AG is a pioneering Swiss startup focused on rebuilding coral reefs using 3D-printed modular structures that restore biodiversity, stabilize coastlines, and generate climate resilience. The Engineering Intern will support the technical development and refinement of rrreefs’ modular reef systems by analyzing oceanographic data, conducting hydrodynamic modeling, and optimizing reef structures for real-world marine conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze long-term oceanographic and wave data
• Conduct value analyses of hydrodynamic forces on reef structures
• Model wave transformations and sediment interactions
• Contribute to material simulations using FEM tools
• Help refine reef design, placement, and construction criteria
• Co-develop underwater construction tools and methods for modular reef installation
• Collaborate with marine scientists, designers, and innovators

Requirements

• Currently studying or recently completed a program (Bachelor, Master, MBA, or other) with a strong technical foundation
• Practical experience or coursework in engineering, marine engineering, oceanography, or related technical fields
• Proficiency in tools like Python or other programming languages for data processing
• Familiarity with FEM modeling, hydrodynamics, or material behavior analysis is a big plus
• Enjoy working across disciplines, love data and design, and want to build something with purpose
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); other languages are welcome
• Motivated by impact, climate action, and meaningful marine innovation
