Job Description

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Support Officer to join our team and contribute to an exciting new project. The selected candidate will support the implementation of BLUEBIO ALLIANCE activities as outlined in the next section, particularly in the area of aquaculture. This is an excellent early-career opportunity, ideal for a recent Master's graduate (completed within the last 1-2 years) seeking to gain valuable experience and become familiar with key stakeholders in the Portuguese aquaculture sector. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong interest in project management and a strong motivation to contribute to the success of the project. While previous project management experience is not required, a solid academic background and a willingness to learn are essential. Knowledge of the Portuguese aquaculture sector and proficient domain of the Portuguese language are highly valued.


ROLE AND FUNCTIONS
As a Junior Project Support Officer, you will provide essential support to the project team and contribute to the successful implementation of the project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Assistance: Assisting with various project tasks, including scheduling and preparation of meetings, preparing supporting materials, and documenting project activities.
  • Deliverable Support: Supporting the development and organisation of project outputs, including training manuals, presentations, question banks, and digital learning activities.
  • Communication Support: Facilitating internal and external communication, among project team members and stakeholders, including assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations and other project related documents.
  • Data and Information Management: Assisting with the collection, organisation, and management of project-related data and information to ensure smooth and accurate tracking.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Supporting the team in building relationships with key stakeholders in the Portuguese aquaculture sector.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • A Master's degree completed within the last 1-2 years, preferably in a relevant field (e.g., Marine Biology, Aquaculture, or related).
  • Proficient domain of the Portuguese language (written and spoken).
  • Domain of the English language will be valued as well.
  • Strong interest in the Portuguese bioeconomy and blue biotechnology sectors.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
