Innoceana Costa Rica seeks a highly motivated Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in Costa Rica. Based at the center in Ojochal with frequent work in the field, this role coordinates conservation and education programs, manages interns and volunteers, and ensures operations meet high safety and compliance standards.

The Program Manager will actively participate in fieldwork, including in-water research and underwater conservation activities to support program delivery. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven professional who is passionate about marine conservation, enjoys working both in the field and underwater, and thrives in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support conservation, education, and community programs.
• Participate in fieldwork and underwater research/diving activities.
• Supervise interns and volunteers, ensuring a safe and collaborative environment.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, permits, and operational protocols.
• Support communication and coordination between local and international teams.
• Assist with events, outreach activities, and partner relationships.

Requirements

• Diving certification and strong in-water field experience.
• Degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 2–4 years of program coordination or management experience, ideally in conservation, education, or NGO work.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing interns or volunteers.
• Familiarity with Costa Rican environmental policies, permitting, and marine conservation (a plus).
