Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a creative and dynamic Project Manager for our Unit of Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

Main tasks will include:

  • Daily management of complex contracts. This includes: (i) ensuring the timely delivery of project activities and deliverables through a people-oriented management process (experts, partners, clients, colleagues) and while closely monitoring all aspects; (ii) ensuring the financial follow up of a project, invoicing; (iii) ensuring adequate project reporting including revising experts’ inputs and participating in the drafting of reports;
  • Contribution to project delivery, including data collection and analysis, stakeholders consultation, etc.
  • Business development: Helping to grow the business by drafting proposals, expanding the network of partners and experts.

Requirements:

  • Master degree
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in project management and/or at least three years of experience as project manager on EU funded projects
    • Experience in dealing with financial matters – financial follow up of the project
    • Good experience with organising meetings on different platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, Webex..)
    • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, and the ability to prioritise work, work under tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to detail;
  • Strong experience with quality control of deliverables (reports, communication production, website items..);
  • Experience in data collection and analysis;
  • Good ICT skills (MS Office, Google Drive, communication platforms, etc.).
  • Interest in maritime affairs and blue economy; previous experience in these fields is an asset;
  • Experience in complex projects, coordinating a team of at least 5 experts and preparation of work plans  is an asset
  • Previous experience with the project/programmes with DG MARE is an asset;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; knowledge of other languages is an asset;
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and compelling manner;
  • Availability to travel in EU at least 4 times per year.
