Job Description
Europe Jacques Delors is looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) Policy Analyst (F/M/D), based in Brussels. The position is to be filled as soon as possible, initially for the duration of a year, with the possibility to extend.
Your tasks:

Manage projects under the supervision of the Director-General.

Monitor relevant legislative files and important events / conferences related to the implementation of the European Ocean Pact and Ocean Act (including the related legislative revisions of MSPD & MSFD).

Monitor legislative developments and initiatives concerning decarbonisation of Maritime Transport at international (IMO) and European level (Ocean Pact related initiatives).

Conduct research and provide timely advice and policy analysis and help to support ambitious policies.

Assist the Vice-presidents of Europe Jacques Delors on their tasks related the Mission Starfish 2030.

Work closely with the communications team, e.g. preparing briefings for events, conceptualising events, sending out invitations to speakers, conducting research for forthcoming publications, developing communication and dissemination strategies for the projects.
Your profile:

Master’s degree in political science, economics, law, social sciences or a related field.

Full proficiency in English and French (at least C1 in both).

Proven professional experience (at least 2 years) in any field related to policy and research.

Advanced knowledge of the European Union, good knowledge of European ocean governance, the European Ocean Pact and sustainability issues related to marine protection and maritime affairs, including the Mediterranean basin.

Strong research, writing and editing skills to develop impact and sustainability- oriented analysis
- Excellent organisational skills, strong time management and multitasking skills and ability to respond to urgent tasks.
- A strong sense of initiative, a commitment to Europe Jacques Delors issues and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

The position is a regular CDD contract under Belgian law. The salary is 2 500€ gross monthly and includes benefits (lunch vouchers, working from home allowance, health insurance, pension fund, extralegal holidays).
