Oceanário de Lisboa is seeking a Breeding Research Aquarist to join the Reproduction Department. This professional will play a key role in scientific research on teleost fish reproduction, contributing to the production of relevant knowledge and the conservation of marine life.

The position involves conducting scientific studies, managing larval and juvenile development systems, and supporting various reproduction projects. The successful candidate will contribute to scientific advancement and conservation goals while working within a multidisciplinary team at one of Europe's leading aquariums.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct scientific studies related to the reproduction of teleost fish.
• Manage and maintain larval and juvenile development systems.
• Participate in other areas of the Reproduction Department, such as auxiliary cultures and coral reproduction.
• Analyze and interpret scientific data, producing reports and publications.
• Supervise students and support the training of young researchers.
• Ensure the continuity of teleost and invertebrate reproduction at the Oceanário de Lisboa.
• Contribute to the production of relevant scientific knowledge.
• Management and monitoring of reproductive processes.

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

• Degree in Marine Biology, Marine Sciences, or related fields.
• Proven experience in teleost reproduction.
• Strong knowledge of teleost and/or invertebrate reproduction.
• Track record of scientific publications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Scientific curiosity.
• High sense of responsibility and scientific rigor.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
