Job Description

We are looking to hire an experienced Programme Manager to organise and coordinate the Save the Med Foundation (STM) programs as well as help implement the STM Strategy. The ideal candidate will providestrategic guidance to teams and project managers in ways that promotes the Foundation’s culture and values.

A bachelor’s degree with experience as project management in sustainability and / or social projects or equivalent position is strongly desired. Knowledge of and experience with different sources of funding (private and public) as well as with regenerative principles of ecosystems and bioregions would also be an asset.

The candidate must have strong interpersonal and people management skills with the ability to understand different perspectives and model active listening and empathy. The ability to communicate clearly and assertively, maintain a positive attitude and create a supporting and productive environment for collaboration is key to the role.

Programme Manager requirements and skills:

● Bachelor’s degree in business management, environmental studies, or any related field (preferably a
PhD degree)
● Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
● Project management certification or knowledge in lean & agile methodologies will be highly valued.
● Sound knowledge of the charity / environmental or third sector in the Balearic Islands.
● Good time management and organisational skills.
● Excellent verbal,written and interpersonal skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with project management tools desired.
● Driving licence.
● Languages: Catalan, Spanish & English.


● Defining the strategy of the programme and projects, in line with the Foundation’s strategy and
● Coordinating and monitoring progress on projects.
● Leading the weekly operations meeting with Project Managers.
● Supporting and communicating with the project managers and team members.
● Developing and coordinating projects within a programme.
● Defining the project's overall plan and budgets.
● Motivating project managers and team to ensure projects are on time and budget.
● Controlling efficacy and productivity within each project.
● Monitoring progress on all projects within the programme and helping overcome setbacks and
● Reporting on progress to the Leader, Managing Director and occasionally the Board.
● Liaising with programme stakeholders and nurturing relationships.
● Identifying funding opportunities for programme development.
