Job Description

A competition is open for the attribution of one work contract of a technician in the
framework of the project “Blue Shuttle: Atlantic area network for enhancing innovation in
the blue economy sector”, within the R&D Institution CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre of
Marine and Environmental Research), supported by Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027,
Reference nº EAPA_0028/2022, according to the following conditions:


1. Scientific area: Biological Sciences
2. General admission requirements: Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) who hold a Bachelor’s degree or integrated Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology or related scientific areas; a scientific and professional curriculum whose profile is suited for performing research and innovation management activities in the area of blue economy.
In cases where the degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, the said degree must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16th August until the signature of the contract.


3. Specific admission requirements: The candidate must accomplish the following requisites:
a) The candidate must have a BSc degree or integrated Master in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences or related areas;
b) Knowledge and experience in research and innovation management activities at least in one of the following topics: i) project submission and management; ii) technology transfer and entrepreneurship activities; iii) communication and dissemination activities.
c) Be fluent in both Portuguese and English;
d) Immediate availability (to be mentioned in the motivation letter).

The jury reserves the right to close the application in case none of the candidates meets
the desired profile.


4. Workplan: The candidate will support the implementation of several activities of the
project Blue Shuttle namely the “Creation of a Transnational Innovation Network in the
Atlantic Area” (stakeholders mapping, engagement and creation of stakeholder’s groups) and
“Knowledge sharing for blue business growth” (Call for Challenges (Digital / Technological
Needs of targeted sector)”, Transnational Open Innovation Event” and “Pilot Projects, in the
areas of Blue Bioeconomy and Aquaculture”. The work also involves supporting the team in
the management, dissemination and communication activities, as well as reporting and
impact assessment of the project. The candidate will also participate in the identification of
funding opportunities and the preparation of project applications at national and European
level, to support the long-term sustainability of the project.


5. Legislation and official rules: Art. 140 n. 1 and n. 2, g) and 148 the Labour Code (Law
7/2009, of 12 February and respective updates).


6. Workplace: The work will be carried out at CIIMAR – Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and
Environmental Research, Novo Terminal de Cruzeiros do Porto de Leixões, Av. General
Norton de Matos s/n, 4450-208 Matosinhos, Portugal, under the supervision of the
Supporting Offices’ R&I Strategy and Funding and Technology Transfer and Business
Development.

7. Duration of the contract: An uncertain term work contract will be signed according to legal
terms, starting July 2024.


8. Monthly salary: Equated to the higher technical career, level 15: gross monthly salary € 1
333,35 €; food, holidays and Christmas allowance apart.


9. Selection methods: The classification of candidates will be carried out through an initial
evaluation based on Curriculum Vitae Evaluation (CVE). The Curriculum Vitae Evaluation will
be conducted according to the following criteria: i. Final grade of Bachelor or master's or
integrated master's degree (N) - 30%. ii. Demonstrated experience in the requested areas
(DEA) - 60%. iii. Motivation Letter (ML) - 10%.

11. Deadline for application and presentation of applications: The application period starts
4/6/2024 until 18/6/2024.
