I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Oceanography from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University. I'm a passionate researcher with a keen interest in Marine Science, Oceanography, and Hydrography, and I have completed several related courses, including Environmental Impact Assessment, Hydrography, and Marine Mammals. I have also worked with field research techniques, including wildlife observation and data collection, and have excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills. I have participated in various international seminars, conferences, and projects, including sailing across the Pacific from Chile to Palau as part of the SDG200 course, funded by IOC-UNESCO. I'm also a trainee meteorologist with the Bangladesh Weather Observation Team, and previously served as an International Student Ambassador for the American Meteorological Society (CHALA). My technical skills include GIS software, MATLAB software, Ferret programming, Phyton, and Google Suite, among others. I'm fluent in Bengali and has intermediate-level proficiency in spoken and written English.
My main duties at the Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) as a trainee meteorologist and international communication manager (volunteer) cover a wide range of meteorological tasks. I regularly monitor and record a variety of meteorological parameters, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and atmospheric conditions, by carefully gathering and analyzing data. In addition, I oversee communication channels to enable the sharing of meteorological data with international meteorological organizations as part of my active involvement in international collaboration. My primary responsibilities include using specialized instruments to conduct routine weather observations and helping to prepare detailed reports and forecasts based on the data gathered. I work with other members of a dynamic team to improve the effectiveness of data collection while offering assistance and training to new volunteers. I am committed to putting quality control procedures in place, guaranteeing the dependability and accuracy of meteorological equipment, and resolving any disparities in observations. In addition, I actively support public awareness campaigns, instruct the public on weather-related matters, and participate in emergency response activities by offering precise and timely meteorological data in dire circumstances. This varied position is a reflection of my dedication to expanding our understanding of meteorology, encouraging global cooperation, and building community resilience and readiness for weather- related emergencies.
