I studied Natural Environmental Engineering in order to provide realistic solutions to the numerous problems and challenges that arise in nature. My passionate dedication to marine ecology led me to delve deeper into this field during my studies at Lund University in Sweden, where I had the opportunity to explore the fascinating marine world in detail. This interest naturally transitioned into my current role as a scuba diving instructor with one year of experience.
Furthermore, I've had the opportunity to work as a Land Analyst for Reforestation Projects at the startup Orygen. In this exciting position, my work focused on identifying potentially reforestable areas for carbon sequestration and environmental conservation projects. I used geospatial tools, such as QGIS, to conduct detailed land analyses, evaluating criteria such as geomorphology, accessibility, hydrology, soil types, and legal and climatic factors. Additionally, my adaptability and flexibility allowed me to respond to the changing requirements of our clients.
I am an active person with a strong desire to learn and contribute my knowledge and skills, whether as part of a team or individually. My international, volunteer, linguistic, academic, and professional experiences have cultivated in me a flexible mindset and the ability to adapt to new environments. I am committed to continuing to contribute to the field of conservation and the environment.
• Member of the dive center team, leading and teaching dive courses, guiding on dives, snorkeling tours and whale watching tours in Cabo San Lucas, Gordo Banks, Cabo Pulmo National Park and La Paz.
• Marine conservation course instructor, educating divers about the complexity of marine ecosystems and their coral reefs in particular.
• Cleaning dive course instructor (Dive Against Debris), removing marine debris on a monthly basis.
• Conducting comprehensive land assessments using QGIS to identify areas suitable for reforestation, with a focus on maximizing carbon absorption, supporting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and advancing environmental conservation projects.
• Preparing detailed reports that included topographical features, vegetation analysis, hydrological assessments, land use evaluations, legal framework considerations, and species selection for reforestation. These reports are instrumental in determining the reforestable area and supporting our environmental goals.
• Proactive communication with landowners.
• Developing consistent adaptability and creativity to tackle the evolving challenges that come up in a dynamic startup environment.
• Field work in parks and gardens. Collection and analysis of irrigation, pruning, and felling data.
• Geographic Information System, QGIS. Report production for the conservation of green areas.
