TransEurope Marinas

TransEurope Marinas is a cooperative association representing over 80 select independent marinas across 12 countries. Acting as a collective voice for over 40,000 berths, the network facilitates international cooperation and policy advocacy for independent, often family-run facilities.

Core Objectives & Work

  • Ocean Science & Literacy: As a partner in the Horizon Europe LandSeaLot project and the JPI Oceans European Marina Network, TransEurope aims to empower marinas to support ocean science. By facilitating the use of low-cost sensors and engaging boaters in Citizen Science, it helps bridge data gaps in the critical land-sea interface.
  • Professional Development: To support workforce retention, the association provides training bursaries for member staff to attend skills development courses. This ensures independent marinas maintain world-class management and sustainability standards.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Having helped found the ICOMIA Diversity Committee, the network actively promotes female inclusion and career progression in marina management.
  • Supporting Digitalisation: The association promotes digital transformation by integrating smart solutions like Pick a Pier for automated membership management and Savvy Navvy for digital navigation. These tools streamline marina operations and improve the user experience for modern, tech-savvy boaters.
  • Collaborative Value: The association coordinates a reciprocal berthing scheme, offering berth-holders a 50% discount across 80 locations, fostering cross-border cruising and support.
