The Blue Bond Accelerator (BBA) is a global not-for-profit initiative dedicated to unlocking the potential of the blue bond market to finance ocean and coastal resilience. By combining technical assistance, market expertise, and risk mitigation strategies, BBA empowers issuers, investors, and policymakers to develop financial solutions that protect and restore aquatic ecosystems.

BBA is seeking a motivated intern to support the team in research, coordination, project tracking, and preparation of materials that strengthen BBA's pipeline of blue economy projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in sustainability, finance, impact investing, or development economics.

Learning objectives and key tasks (under supervision):

  • Market intelligence and research on blue economy sectors, policy frameworks, sustainable blue finance, stakeholders' mapping.
  • Support events tracker to ensure awareness and prioritisation of participation.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing documentation, including project briefs, templates, application forms, and eligibility assessments.
  • Assist with virtual workshops/webinars, including preparing materials, managing registrations, and supporting follow-up communication.
  • Support virtual coordination with external stakeholders and BBA team members across time zones.
  • Support management database of BBA stakeholders (CRM): potential issuers, partners, and technical advisors.
  • Support BBA communication plan including newsletters, slide decks, project snapshots, and case studies.
  • Provide ad-hoc administrative and research support to the BBA team as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate or currently enrolled in a Masters program (sustainability, business and administration or related programs) with some internship experience.
  • Strong research, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Interest in sustainability, finance, development, or blue economy topics such as impact measurement, financial instruments, or ESG/blue economy frameworks.
  • Experience preparing slide decks, dashboards, or simple databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fully remote setting.
  • Strong digital literacy: Google Workspace, MS Office, online collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work across different time zones (flexible hours) between Europe and APAC/ME.
  • Applicants must hold a valid work visa (BBA will not sponsor visa applications).

Location

Remote (APAC/ME preferred; ideally Singapore or India).

Salary

Voluntary internship with modest stipend.
