Blutopia is an operational diving center based on the island of Rhodes, Greece, running daily snorkeling and scuba diving trips designed around ocean literacy and marine biology interpretation. Our visitors do not simply swim; they experience the Mediterranean Sea through guided explanations of marine ecosystems, species, and environmental challenges, turning every trip into an educational eco-tourism experience.
For the summer season, we are hiring a marine biologist to actively participate in our daily diving operations and eco-tourism activities. The role combines sea work, interaction with visitors, and marine education. You will assist during snorkeling and diving trips, explain marine life and ecosystems to guests, and support environmental awareness activities.
Beyond the operational role, you will be actively involved in in-water biodiversity assessments, species identification, and habitat observation during dives and snorkeling surveys. You will contribute to ongoing field data collection, support simple monitoring protocols, and participate in small research and conservation projects linked to Mediterranean coastal ecosystems. This includes documenting marine species, observing seagrass habitats, and assisting in the interpretation of ecological data gathered during daily sea activities.
This is a highly practical, field-based position ideal for marine scientists who want real experience at sea, exposure to applied marine research, and direct involvement in communicating marine science to the public.
Blutopia offers a collaborative and supportive environment where passion for the ocean meets real operational work, applied research, and meaningful environmental impact. Opportunities to further develop diving skills and actively contribute to research and monitoring activities are an integral part of the experience.
Blutopia is first and foremost an operational diving center based on the island of Rhodes, Greece, running daily snorkeling and scuba diving trips designed around ocean literacy and marine biology interpretation. Our visitors do not simply go for a swim; they experience the Mediterranean Sea through guided explanations of marine ecosystems, species, and environmental challenges, turning every trip into an educational eco-tourism experience.
Alongside our diving operations, Blutopia functions as a hub for marine education, field training, and applied research. We host students, young professionals, and researchers from across Europe, offering hands-on experience in marine biology, conservation, and aquaculture within real sea conditions. Through dive-based monitoring, coastal observations, citizen engagement activities, and collaborations with academic and local partners, we actively contribute to the understanding and protection of Mediterranean marine ecosystems.
At Blutopia, we believe that immersive experience, science communication, and practical skill development are essential for shaping the next generation of marine professionals. We provide a dynamic, supportive environment where passion for the ocean meets real operational work and meaningful environmental impact.
