Job Description

CMMI is a VET-accredited organisation under the Erasmus+ Programme (2025 Call, valid until 31 December 2027) and invites applications from vocational education and training (VET) learners who wish to undertake an Erasmus+ mobility period in the marine and maritime sectors. This opportunity is aimed at learners and recent graduates seeking high-quality international learning experiences that complement their vocational education, enhance practical and digital skills, and support professional development within Europe’s blue economy.

1. Who Can Apply

  • Learners currently enrolled in VET programmes
  • Recent graduates of VET programmes
  • Recent graduates relevant to the marine and maritime sectors
  • University students enrolled in VET-related programmes (18+ years old) (i.e. marine sciences, engineering, aquaculture, and digitalisation)

Duration: 2 to 60 days

Applicants should have a clear interest in marine and maritime sectors and be motivated to participate in an international learning and training experience. CMMI encourages participation from learners with fewer opportunities and ensures inclusive, accessible mobility experiences in line with Erasmus+ principles.

Educators, Trainers, and Experts

2. Invited Experts

(Trainers, educators, policy experts, or other specialised professionals from abroad contributing to the improvement of education and training at CMMI)

·          Duration: 2 to 60 days

·          Activities may include:

  • Knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices
  • Contribution to training delivery, curriculum development, or capacity building
  • Support for innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability in VET

3. Educators and Trainers for Training Purposes

(Participants enrolled in programmes leading to a teaching or training career, or recent graduates of such programmes)

Duration: 10 to 365 days

Activities may include:

  • Practical training and job shadowing
  • Development of pedagogical, professional, and digital competences
  •  Exposure to innovative training methods and international VET practices

Eligible Mobility Activities

During their mobility period at CMMI, learners may participate in:

  • Work-based learning and practical training activities
  • Applied vocational learning in laboratory, research, innovation, or training environments
  • Skills development activities related to sustainability, digitalisation, and emerging maritime technologies
  • Observation, hands-on practice, and participation in real operational or project-based settings
  • Structured learning activities aligned with agreed learning outcomes and VET curricula

Areas of Training and Expertise

Learners may be hosted within one or more of CMMI’s centres, gaining experience in areas such as:

  • Marine observation, ecosystem monitoring, and climate data collection- Marine Observation Centre (MOC)
  • Maritime digitalisation, automation, simulation, and data-driven systems- Maritime Digitalisation Centre (MDigiC)
  • Marine robotics, autonomous systems, and smart maritime technologies- Marine Robotics Innovation Centre (MaRIC)
  • Naval architecture, ocean and marine engineering- Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering Centre (NAOME)
  • Marine and coastal ecosystems, biodiversity protection, and habitat restoration- Marine & Coastal Ecosystems Centre (MarCEC)
  • Maritime safety culture, human factors, and wellbeing at sea- Maritime Human Element Centre (MHEC)
  • Marine cultural heritage documentation and protection- Marine Cultural Heritage Centre (MCHC)
  • Ocean governance, international cooperation, and maritime policy- Centre for Ocean Governance and International Cooperation (COGIC)
  • Marine biotechnology, aquaculture, and blue bioeconomy applications- Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture Centre (MBAC)
  • Innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer in maritime contexts- Knowledge, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre (KInEC)

CMMI ensures that all learner mobility activities are:

  • Properly prepared, supervised, and monitored
  • Aligned with Erasmus+ VET accreditation and quality standards
  • Supported through mentoring, guidance, and ongoing feedback
  • Designed to enhance both professional competences and personal development
