The Algal Biorefinery Group at the Laboratory of Algal Biotechnology, Centre Algatech (Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences), Třeboň, Czech Republic, led by Dr. José Cheel, invites applications for a Research Assistant Position to work within a European research project.

The group seeks a highly motivated Research Assistant to provide technical and analytical support for multi-target algal biorefinery processes. The contract duration is two years, with possible yearly extension based on individual performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development and optimization of algal extraction processes.
• Assist in the design and optimization of biphasic solvent systems for algal biorefinery applications.
• Perform analytical and bio-functional characterization of algal extracts.
• Contribute to process development and optimization through routine analytical monitoring and quality control.

Requirements

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, biotechnology, biology, pharmacy, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Good communication skills in English.

Desirable:

• Experience with HPLC-DAD and/or GC-FID-MS.
• Experience with statistical software and data analysis tools.
